In partnership with AccessiWay
D4Hub works with AccessiWay, a specialised accessibility provider. AccessiWay runs the audits and provides the assistive widget; our developers fix the barriers in the code and keep your site aligned over time.
The European Accessibility Act
Since June 2025, the European Accessibility Act requires certain businesses serving EU consumers to ensure their websites, e-commerce, booking flows and digital services are accessible to everyone, including people with disabilities. The obligation applies to large enterprises, public bodies and consumer-facing digital service providers; micro-enterprises are exempt, and SMEs may qualify for exemptions where compliance would impose a disproportionate burden.
Whether or not the EAA applies to your organisation today, accessibility is a growing expectation from users, partners and regulators. Non-compliance, where it applies, means legal risk; for everyone else, inaccessibility means lost customers, reduced reach and falling behind competitors who are already adapting.
What we do
We help you turn accessibility from a one-time check into a continuous operational capability.
Audit
We partner with AccessiWay, a specialised accessibility provider, to run comprehensive audits of your website, e-commerce or platform. The audit identifies barriers against WCAG 2.1 AA standards and produces an actionable report.
Remediation
Our development team fixes the issues found in the audit: HTML structure, ARIA roles, contrast, keyboard navigation, form labels, focus management, screen reader compatibility and more. We work on WordPress, WooCommerce, Shopify, custom themes and plugins.
Ongoing care
Accessibility is not a one-time fix. Every new page, plugin update, template change or content edit can introduce new barriers. We offer continuous monitoring and remediation to keep your site aligned over time.
Accessibility widget
Through our partnership with AccessiWay, we can also deploy an assistive overlay widget that gives visitors immediate accessibility tools: text resizing, contrast adjustment, screen reader enhancement, keyboard navigation support.
Who is affected by the EAA
- Large enterprises (250+ employees and 50M+ turnover, or 43M+ balance sheet)
- Public bodies and government agencies
- Consumer-facing digital service providers (e-commerce, banking, e-learning, booking, transport)
- Micro-enterprises (under 2M turnover and fewer than 10 employees) are exempt
- SMEs below the thresholds may be exempt where compliance imposes a disproportionate burden
- A transition period applies until 28 June 2030 for services already in use before 28 June 2025
Why this matters
- Legal compliance where the EAA applies, aligned with AgID guidelines for the Italian PA
- Broader reach: up to 15-20% of users benefit from accessible design
- Better SEO: accessible sites are better indexed by search engines
- Improved UX for everyone, not just users with disabilities
- Reduced risk of legal action and complaints
What accessibility is not
- A legal certification or guarantee of full compliance
- A replacement for legal advice
- A one-time audit that stays valid forever
- Automatic: real accessibility requires manual testing and human judgment

FAQStraight answers
It depends on your size and sector. It covers large enterprises, public bodies and consumer-facing digital services such as e-commerce, banking, booking and e-learning. Micro-enterprises are exempt, and smaller SMEs may be where compliance would be a disproportionate burden. Either way, an accessible site reaches more people. For a legal assessment, talk to your legal advisor.
No. The audit tells you where the barriers are; remediation removes them. And because every new page, plugin update or content edit can introduce new barriers, ongoing care keeps the site aligned over time.
Not on its own. The widget gives visitors immediate tools, but real accessibility requires fixing the code, with manual testing and human judgment. We use it alongside remediation, not instead of it.
No. Our work is not a legal certification or a guarantee of full compliance, and it is not a replacement for legal advice. We fix the barriers, verify the fixes and help you publish the required accessibility statement.
